Manager, Partnerships & Engagement

The Christmas Bureau is looking for the right individual to fill the position of Manager, Partnership and Engagements (FT).

We are looking for someone who has a passionate and committed approach to fund development practices, embraces engagement and growing a variety of partnerships, and understands the impact of food insecurity in our community. The right person for the role is someone who gets excited about new opportunities, is capable of developing new and innovative engagement strategies, and has a proven track record in developing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

The Manager, Partnerships & Engagement is responsible for:

  • The development and execution of an integrated and long-range cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plan of current and prospective relationships to support the Christmas Bureau of Edmonton in meeting its organizational and financial sustainability goals
  • Working closely with the Executive Director, staff, and volunteers to identify, cultivate, and solicit donations to specific projects
  • Support and implement strategies for donor retention, acquisition of new donors, as well as stewardship and recognition supporting the Christmas Bureau’s long-term strategic development, partnerships, and sustainability

Communications Committee Member

The Communications Committee is a committee that provides strategic advice and counsel, leverage industry experience, and networks to support the communications and marketing strategies of the Christmas Bureau. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the committee members:  

  • Support the development of the marketing and communication framework of the Christmas Bureau Strategic Plan
  • Support the development of a marketing and communication yearly plan
  • Vetting key messages for use across channels
  • Provide recommendations, analysis of market and donor research, creative direction, and communication strategies for industry positioning

Human Resources Committee Member

The Human Resource Committee is a standing committee reporting to the Board. The Committee assists the Board to ensure organization continuity through human resource governance by:

  • Developing and revising the Executive Director job description and assisting with additional staff positions
  • Managing the recruitment of Board Members, Executive Members, and Committee Members
  • Development and training for Board and Committee Members
  • Reviewing and monitoring all Human Resource policies and procedures
  • Succession planning for Board Members, Executive Members, Committee Members, and Executive Director

Finance Committee Member

The Finance Committee is a standing committee reporting to the Board. Reporting via the Treasurer / Finance Committee Chair, the Committee assists the Board to manage the financial operations and oversee compliance requirements by:

  • Overseeing the development of the annual budget and three-year forecasts
  • Reviewing monthly financial statements and accounting practices
  • Finance and accounting experience - accounting experience will be given priority
  • Overseeing the preparation for the annual audit
  • Developing an investment strategy
  • Review, monitor, and develop all financial policies and procedures ensuring compliance with standard accounting practices and compliance requirements
