ABOUT Trevor Smereka
Trevor Smereka is a senior business leader with more than 37 years of experience, much of it in the utilities industry. Throughout his career, he has held a wide range of leadership roles, spanning finance, commercial, regulatory, operations, account management and sales. He currently serves as Executive Vice-President of Unified Energy 8760 Ltd., a utilities management advisory firm that provides services to commercial, industrial and public sector clients. Previously, he spent nearly 20 years with Capital Power and EPCOR, following five years in public accounting.
Trevor is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA), and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta. He is a graduate of the Executive Program at Queen’s University, and is a non-designated member of the Institute of Corporate Directors. He also serves on the Professional Development Advisory Committee of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Alberta.
A lifelong Edmontonian, Trevor lives in Edmonton with his wife and teenage son. When not watching his son’s games and practices at the soccer pitch, he enjoys golf, hockey, travel, and keeping up with current events.
Trevor was drawn to the Christmas Bureau of Edmonton because of its long and distinguished history of serving the community. Christmas has always been a special time for him and his family, and he is proud to support an organization that brings hope and dignity to so many Edmonton families in need during the holiday season.
